Entertainment things...
Jan. 8th, 2004 12:33 pmThere is tons and tons of news on the new Batman movie. There is a script review (Yes spoilers) up at Dark Horizons. To sum it up, this will be much more Bruce and development into Batman focused than the rock-em sock-em movies we've gotten before. The costume, if you're interested, will be going back towards the grey and dark blue. It is apparently very different than what we've come to expect but is still entirely awesome. I am hopefully.
As for those horrible Rowan Atkinson/Harry Potter rumors - They're not true. They haven't cast anyone in Harry Potter 4 yet.
They're signing people for a third Scooby-Doo movie. Please do everyone a favor and don't go see the second one, would you? Thanks.
Val Kilmer's new movie, Spartan, looks very, very interesting.
In case you hadn't heard, Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane are taking The Producers back to the big screen. It should be quite good.
Variety reports that Johnny Depp will go to the 17th century for The Libertine, which begins production February 23 outside London. Depp will star opposite John Malkovich and Samantha Morton in a tale based on the true story of John Wilmot, the Earl of Rochester, who was a poet, courtier and notorious rake.
There is a Spider-Man 2 script review out there as well praising the casting of Alfred Molina. Apparently we're really going the mad scientist route with Doc Ock. I wonder if we're going the Aunt May love interest route?
Grendel has been optioned for a movie. (The comic book.) If you're familiar with the comic it will be following the Devil's Legacy plot line. Good stuff.
There are a small ton of amazing actors being cast as voices for the new season of Justice League. There have been a lot of Greek Gods cast and it seems to indicate we'll be doing a Wonder Woman origin sort of story. I wonder when they'll make the official announcment for another season?
Witch Hunter Robin comes to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim beginning Monday, Feb. 16. The gothic series about a supernatural threat to modern society will air Monday-Thursday at midnight (ET, PT) during Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's late night block of animation for adults.
Whilst talking with Johnathon Ross this week, Tom Cruise confirmed he's still keen on War of the Worlds and the Iron Man.

Date: 2004-01-08 01:15 pm (UTC)I really, really love Doctor Octopus. As a kid it gave me the shivers when Spider-Man would be pursued by these mechanical tentacles coming from every direction, their owner unseen. I hope they give him a personality that's significantly different from Norman Osborne's in the first movie.

Date: 2004-01-08 02:21 pm (UTC)Then they can go the Underworld route and film Devil by the Deed as a prequel and the Eppie/Orion storyline as a sequel!
Now I wanna dig my issues out and read them.
Come to think of it, if this gets made, they'd suddenly be worth a bunch of money. Go Hollywood Go!
