The Last Samurai was awesome.

Justice League? Awesome

Priates of the Carribean DVD? Also awesome.

It was a good day.

Oh! As a note for those you partaking in Rusty this year:

Please note that Rustycon has changed hotels for our 21st convention, to be held on Jan 16-18, 2004.

As many of you may have heard, Rustycon did not make our room night requirements last year in Bellevue.
The DoubleTree and Rustycon worked diligently to renegotiate a workable agreement for Rustycon 21, and finally together determined that perhaps Rusty would be better off at another site. This allows Rusty to work with lower room night requirements, and the DoubleTree Hotel to book another large event into their venue.

So, without further ado, may we present:

Rustycon 21 Returns Home to the SeaTac Radisson Airport Hotel

Please join us to celebrate the 21st birthday of Rustycon at our old home hotel in SeaTac.
Make your reservations early, as rooms are limited and will go fast!!

When you register for your room with the hotel, make sure to mention Rustycon so they give you the correct pricing of $94.00 per night. Each room comes with up to 2 parking passes, but those without rooms will be charged $5.00 to park with no in-and-out privileges.

I was really bothered by the battle scenes (all but the first). But the armor dressing scene was the best love-making scene I've seen in a decade, easy.

They were brutal but then the director has always been that way about war. He also directed Glory. He's never pulled punches about what war looks like and I'm kind of glad he didn't. It make me cringe and flinch but...

I didn't mind that they wre brutal... they were technically inaccurate to me. But then I bitched about Henry V, too.

Which parts did you find inacurate?

the bullets killing with one blow, especially at exceptional range

really, really bad tactics that would have never been used in real life (send in ground troups, then arrows?)

Just nit-picky stuff like that.

Well, historically you send in ground troups and then arrows if you a) don't care about your troops or b) care more about killing them than anything else.

But yeah...
