Entertainment stuff.
Oct. 6th, 2003 10:50 amCartoon Network has released character images for Star Wars: Clone Wars, a series of 20 animated shorts that will air beginning Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. C3-PO looks like he did in Droids, some.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon is providing two stories for Tales of the Vampires #1, a five-issue mini-series from Dark Horse Comics that recounts the stories of vampires across time.
Dark Horse describes the series as:
"Sunnydale is no more and Buffy has moved on, taking the best show on TV with her. For those looking to fill the void, Joss Whedon and Dark Horse humbly offer Tales of the Vampires. Whedon and his intrepid crew of Buffy writers have plotted out a five-issue series that recounts the stories of vampires across time. Some familiar, like Spike and Dru, some mysterious, these vampires offer all Buffy fans a chance to reenter the universe they've come to love."
The Herald Sun says: Emma Thompson will make a guest appearance as the eccentric Professor Trelawny, completing an ensemble cast that boasts Gary Oldman, Julie Christie and Robert Hardy.
More Superman news. There better be a re-write.
A good review of School of Rock. Everyone should see this movie. EVERYONE!
Ha ha ha ha ha. This is great.
Apparently the Hitchhiker's Guide movies have been green lit by Spyglass/Disney.
Disney is expected to forgo their long-in-the-planning 2005 IMAX release of "The Little Mermaid" if the "Aladdin" large format debut on January 1, 2004 is not a success.
Production on "The Wallace & Gromit Movie" should start next month in Bristol, UK.
Special Edition DVDs of "Alice in Wonderland" & "Pocahantas" are confirmed for January 27, 2004.

Date: 2003-10-06 11:44 am (UTC)See, it works for Dexter. But it's hard to take any serious moments in Samuri Jack seriously, because of the style. As a comedy cartoon, Dexter works well. I don't think the style works for anything meant to be taken at all seriously.

Date: 2003-10-06 11:47 am (UTC)They keep screwing around with the Little Mermaid. DVD in 2008, IMAX iffy, etc etc.
I just want the bloody DVD and be done with it, rarity or not. And eBay has them for like... $200.
Bleh.

Date: 2003-10-06 11:49 am (UTC)Now if they were trying to do it in the Teen Titan's style, I would have to agree with you. There are moemnts when that style is too over the top for me, even in its own setting. It's cute, but too much.
!_!

Date: 2003-10-06 01:06 pm (UTC)Manga Titans!
See, Manga Star Wars can and does work. It's the blocky style, with the thick blocky lines that bothers me a bit. It looks inherently comedic.
