At 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 6, 1945 the U.S. dropped and atomic bomb on Hiroshima, 429 miles southwest of Tokyo. 160,000 people were killed or injured in the blast. Saturday is the anniversary of the Nagasaki bombing.
