Well, last night was lovely. After some strange micommunication sort of thingy, I ended up with Marci at the Neil Gaiman signing and reading and all of that. (Marci gives a pretty good account, so I'll tell the parts that aren't in that one.)
It was lovely. I enjoyed seeing him and listening to him read. People asked all sorts of interesting (even if most were fan boy) questions about himself. When asked what he would do if her were invisible for a day he replied, "A whole lot of damage, I suspect."
It was amausing. I bought a copy of the new book American Gods and the Fables and Reflections and got them both signed. I spent too much money, but I figured when else was more appropriate to buy the first Sandman when he was around to sign it.
American Gods is going to be a book that I read slowly. There are many, many mythological characters in this book and I will be damned if I don't do my best to identify all of them.
Last night was the noght of strange people talking to me. Well, the first one seemed really more interested in Marci. The second one accosted me at my bus stop. I didn't get home until 11:30 and then I crashed. I need to get home earlier and sleep. I really do.
It was a good to laugh that much.
Oh, and, Neil Gaiman is a Scorpio.

Date: 2001-06-26 03:37 pm (UTC)I'd rather be something else, really. No one likes scorpions. Well, some people, but if you're to believe modern cinema, they mostly consist of bastards and undead bastards.
