So, I'm getting pictures in my head again. I used to doodle all the time and then I just stopped.

Well, there are things in my head I want to draw and I've gone through so much paper already, gotten cramps in my hand.

Still can't draw worth a damn.

Wish it were more like painting.

Don't have anything to paint with right now.... Hrm.

I recommend practicing with still-life subjects first, once you get the fundamentals down the esoteric stuff can come along.

Hmmmm. I'm really good at drawing buildings and architechtural things. Just not so good with anything else.

Best to start out with small things, like drawing the things on your desk. Once you can draw say, a pencil, then you can fill out the details. (Like light shining on the lead, the shadow that it makes, the small ridges near the eraser, etc).
