litheraTroy is, starting today, being shot at a host of locations, including Hal Far, Fort Ricasoli, where the city of Troy has been constructed, Mtahleb, Ghajn Tuffieha, Golden Bay, Mellieha, Cirkewwa and Dwejra. Starring Brad Pitt, who arrived on Friday, it is being directed by Wolfgang Petersen (The Perfect Storm). Its stellar cast also includes Eric Bana, who is featuring in the forthcoming summer blockbuster The Hulk, Orlando Bloom and Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings), Julie Christie and Peter O'Toole. Helen, "the face that launched a thousand ships", is German actress Diane Kruger.
Ian McKellen is starting to let details about RoTK slip out here and there. People are saying that they're huge spoilers but when I read it, I didn't think so.
While director Oliver Stone is trying to get his version of Alexander into theaters for Thanksgiving 2004, Baz Luhrmann and producer Dino De Laurentiis now say their Alexander the Great will not be released until at least late 2005.
Avi Arad revealed that the company and 20th Century Fox are targeting November 4, 2004 for the Fantastic Four movie. He also mentioned Blade III is definitely in the works, that there will be some new announcements on The Punisher this week and that scripting is currently going on for 6 more projects, including Sub-Mariner and Iron Man.
Underworld might be changing its name. It looks like it could be a good movie, but changing the name after they've starting putting out material for it could kill it.
The trailer for Brother Bear (Disney's two dimensional animated feature) is unfinished but it looks interesting. It will be out for Thanksgiving. If ther eis a better version out there, I'll find it. The sound on the one I saw is horrible and it skips.
Hugh Jackman made the entertainment show rounds on Monday, also joining X2 castmates James Marsden, Alan Cumming, Anna Paquin, Famke Janssen, Shawn Ashmore and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos on an X2 special on MTV's Total Request Live. He said he would "bet the house" that there will be a third X-Men movie. "I don't see any reason why the third one can't be any better than the second," he said.
