So Warner Brothers is still hard at work trying to get Superman off the ground. Looks like they've found a director... Maybe? I'll wait for official word on this one.

Casting on Phantom of the Opera is starting to come through. Looks like Weber and Schumacher are going with mostly unknown people. Which is fine with me. As long as they can sing or be made to sound like they can sing... The Phantom is rumored to be the guy who played Dracula in Dracula 2000. Christine is down between Anne Hathaway and Emmy Rossum. (I'd go with Emmy. She's like Audrey and that is a good thing.)

Any Punisher freaks out there? Here is a (not so great) picture of Thomas Jane as the Punisher. Yes. He has the skull.

The Guardian reports that The English National Ballet film is aimed at introducing Swan Lake to a new audience by using the special effects team behind the Harry Potter films and Lord of the Rings.

Donald Sutherland has joined the cast of TNT's mini Salem's Lot, reports Variety. The film, based on Stephen King's bestselling novel, is about a journalist who returns to his New England hometown to find that it has been overrun with vampires. Sutherland will play Richard Straker, a mysterious antique store owner and right-hand man to the head vampire. Sutherland rounds out a cast that includes Rob Lowe, Andre Braugher, Rutger Hauer, James Cromwell and Samantha Mathis. (Rob Lowe, Rutger Hower and Donald Sutherland? I'm there. How much you wanna bet Rutger Hauer is the head vamp and Rob Lowe is the journalist?)

Cartoon Network will be premiering two brand new series this summer from Warner Bros. Animation. Animation Insider has learned that Teen Titans, a series following the adventures of a group of five adolscent superheroes debuts Saturday, July 19 at 9:00 p.m. (That mean's it has been pushed forward. Much closer to Justice League premier.)

Building on the relative success of Batman: Vengeance, Ubi Soft is getting a little more ambitious with Batman: Rise of Sin-Tzu, due out for all three consoles this year. Developed by Ubi's Montreal studios, Rise of Sin-Tzu introduces a new bad guy to the Batman universe (no prizes for guessing his name) alongside a few other classic heroes and villains.

"Well, hopefully they'll wait," Jackman said when asked if he'll be able to play Wolverine again in a third X-flick. "I don't know. I haven't even been asked. I don't think they've even decided if there will be one until about May 4 or 5."

Kids' WB! is proclaiming its Saturday programming as "Superhero-Stuffed Saturday," with sweeps-oriented events. The network will preview the upcoming Teen Titans animated series with clips throughout the morning. Two episodes teaming Static Shock with DC Comics heroes will air. Batman guest-stars in "Hard as Nails," a repeat of the third-season premiere that airs at 9:30 a.m. Superman guest-stars in "Toys in the Hood," a new episode that airs at 10:30 a.m. (Must watch cartoons on Saturday.)

It's Tuesday. Almost Friday.

There's something beautifully ironic about Donald Sutherland playing the "ghoul" to the Salem's Lot vampire.
