litheraA review for Ned Kelly. I wanted to see it anyway, (Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom and Geoffry Rush... C'mon...) but this makes me a little less wary. When I go into these movies I normally have this little voice in the back of my head whispering to me, "But... but that's not how it /really/ happened."
Chicago executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are set to turn loose a new Footloose. Variety says Paramount has made a deal with the Storyline Entertainment duo to reinvent the 1984 hit as a full-scale musical with a budget under $30 million.
After collaborating on the upcoming Universal Pictures feature 2 Fast 2 Furious, the studio has hired the film's screenwriters Michael Brandt and Derek Haas to write the action-adventure film SpyHunter, with wrestling superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson attached to star for producers Chuck Gordon and Adrian Askarieh. Hee hee hee - Like I've said, The Rock is single handedly bringing back the light hearted campy action movie. It makes me happy.
According to Variety, Bridget Moynahan (The Recruit) has signed on to star opposite Will Smith in I, Robot, for 20th Century Fox. Moynahan will portray a psychologist in the distant future with a specialty in robot psyches. She must aid a robot-phobic police detective (Smith) who's investigating a murder that seemingly violates the Laws of Robotics, which state that robots may not allow a human to come to harm. Production should begin in May. The film's current release date is July 2, 2004. However, it's possible that Fox will change the date after Sony's announced on Wednesday that Spider-Man 2 will launch that same Friday.
The X2 website has another new intro - Pyro. We're starting to run out of characters and we still ahve 35 days left until the movie. (No. I'm not counting. Really.)
