A Daredevil review. Some spoilers. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. The trailers will be great. The movie will be great and... It will just be great.

There are hints of someone deciding to to The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. In this case there is a director looking for a screenwriter. That would be interesting. I'd need to read that again.

Variety reports that New Line Cinema, which has worked with Marvel on the successful Blade franchise, hopes to turn Iron Man into a tentpole for its 2005 slate. The studio acquired the property in 2000, but has started from scratch with scribes Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, creators of the WB's top-rated Smallville and writers of current hit film Shanghai Knights and its predecessor. I say again, who would /you/ cast as Iron Man? Tony Stark is one of the few Avengers who is vibrant in my head. Him and Captain America, really.

This scares me: According to Screen Daily, Joel Schumacher is now set to direct The Phantom of the Opera, a feature version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit stage musical.

This may sound like a weird choice, but I'd cast Tom Selleck as Tony Stark. He has a moustash, you see.

-I'd cast Howie Long as Captain America.
-I'd cast Michael Rapaport (of Boston Public) as Hawkeye.
-I'd cast Joaquin Phoenix as Justice.
-I'd cast Tim Curry as Jarvis the butler. (I'll always cast Tim Curry as a butler).
-I'd cast whomever was the original voice for Soundscream as Ultron...and CGI of course.

No one else in the Avengers really resonates with me. I'd like something cool for The Vision, but that'd probably also be CGI. OR at least a CGI skin over an actor.

Check out last night's "Daily Show" - there's a good interview with Michael Clarke Duncan, and a lot of Daredevil discussion.

Of course, I have a copy of "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress".

Dude, Howie Long can't act his way out of a paper bag. I could never cast him as Cap.

I understand the feeling of going with Tom Selleck as Tony Stark. That's not too far off from my own feelings, though he is getting just a little old for it, don't you think?

I think Matt Damon could do a good Hawkeye.

I should watch that tomorrow before we go to the movie. I might just pick it up to reread as my next book. So much to read...

A Schumacher Phantom? Snorrrk! Well, that would be... it would be funny. Sure to get a few laughs, intended or not.

I'm a big Iron Man fan, and think he makes a great on-screen superhero. Just so long as they keep Nick Cage away this time. I don't really know enough actors to cast him well though.

how about Vin Diesel for Cap?

Maybe. I've never seen him pull of the sort of regal patriotism that Cap can do. It is so hard ot pin down the right words to describe Captain America for me. He's so..... noble. Righteous? I don't know, he always seems to embody everything that is good about humanity to me and is therefore very hard to cast.

However, Vin Diesel is much closer in talent than Howie Long.

1) who's the director looking to do Moon,/i>?

2) Tom Cruise has been circling around IronMan for years. He really wants to play Tony Stark!

Yeah. I keep on hearing about Tom Cruise wanting to play Tony Stark. I'm honestly not sure how well that would go, but then again... Good actors who love characters tend to do them better...

David Heyman - he's a producer from Harry Potter. He's looking to mostly produce, but maybe direct if he can't find anyone else...

I certainly wouldn't cast Vin Diesel as Cappy. I'd rather him as Taskmaster, a badass that took on the Avengers single-handed and almost won.

Okay, Howie Long can't act but he looks the part. If we are taking actual acting into consideration than I'd go with say...Ron Eldard. Had a part in Black Hawk Down, looks the part, can act.

I change my mind about Justice, I'd cast Josh Hartnett. (From 40 Days & 40 Nights, decent comedy.)

I dunno, I see Iron Man, Hank Pym, Hawkeye, and the other core members as a little older and seasoned. So, I could see Tony Stark played by a 40 something (I'm guessing Selleck is in his 50s but soft lighting and makeup do wonders).

Besides, he'd mostly be in his CGI armor, so it wouldn't matter that much. Oh, and Selleck can play smooth. Stark is smooth. Oh, and I can see Selleck being the powerful CEO of a company...a spotty 20-something couldn't make that believable.
