As I am dissatisfied with the response I got to the link, I am posting the picture and you can all deal.

There.

Saw the Two Towers special last night. I saw the stunt that will make... Just.. Wow. The angle on it is pretty bad, part of it is off screen, but, damn. I just. Wow.

New Line Cinema is teaming with DC Comics to create a feature based on the classic comic book Shazam! Ronin is also in talks.

Ummmmm... I think that's about it for now. In unrelated news, nexy year we're going to start adding color to our bills starting with the $20 and going up. The treasury hasn't announced /what/ colors yet, though.

From what I've heard about the game,
it's set in OZ before the books, and it's gonna be
a lot darker than the previously shown.

(Alas, no screenshots yet.)

Hrm, a WW game set in Oz...

How can we mock Canadians for their goofy looking money then?

Oh well it'll still be worth nothing ;)

I've seen one screen shot. One. It's neat. It seems very, very dark thus far and I like what I've seen. It will just be forever until it is done, but I'll buy it and play it, that's certain.

it's not about liking or not liking. It's about having excuses to mock Canadians

.... Well, there are inherantly mockable things about them, but, you see, they've also gotten some things right.

Nope. You must find that one tiny thing wrong with their best systems and pretend like it completely invalidates the usefulness of it.

I mean I prefer the CFL's rules to the NFL, but I'll still snicker and say "55 Yard Line" or ask them why an 8 team league had two teams called the Roughriders. (One was the Rough Riders, the other was the Roughriders. Drove casinos crazy.) Nothing is immune. NOTHING!

...well except for curling. I like curling. I wish I could find a site that sells team jackets.

That's what the French are for.

Pretty colors!!!!!!

YAY!

Shazam will be a flop. Not popular enough as is to support a movie.

How many people have EVER read Batman? Enough to support a movie.

How many people have EVER read X-Men? Enough to support a movie.

How many people have EVER read Shazam!? Not that many. At least, not enough for them to want to shell out $7+ for a movie.

The same place the above pic came from. It's really dark and you can't see too much other than the setting. Go ot the carbon 6 website.

But see, the French add mulitlingualism to the country. We should speak more than one language. It makes us weak and makes it so when we /do/ leave American soil, we're typically idiots. Oh the stupid Americans I've seen over seas.

It supported a tv show in the 70's.

If this happens, I want ALL of the Marvels. I want Captain Marvel Jr. and Mary Marvel and Uncle "No I'm not useless really" Marvel (and every time he appears, SOMEONE has to say, "He's such a loveable old fraud") and the really lame Lieutenant Marvels.... you know Hillbilly Marvel and Fat Marvel and Tall Marvel... and...

...hmmm perhaps it's good that I don't own a movie studio.

Curling. You know, it's all about the four rock rule. It changed the sport.

It depends on how they go about it. SHAZAM was ina cartoon when we were younger. Most people a little older than us remember it. It could work, but... we'll see.

It wasn't a cartoon. It was live action with Isis.

I wish the CCA would switch to the 4 rock rule instead of the 3 rock rule that they use. I found the Olympics to be a little more interesting than the usual curling I get to watch.

Then again I wish that we could get TSN in the US or that they'd lose all of their curling contracts and the rights would go to the CBC. I only get to watch it like 4 or 5 times a year.

Lots of things supported a TV show in the 70s. You're not selling me on that point.

There was a cartoon. I know there was. The bad guy was the Mandarin or he was the bad guy often. I don't remember the live action, I remember the cartoon with ... Not the JSA or the JLA, but... something else. They were a team...

Yeah I've driven by the club. I'm kind of intimidated to try though. My coordination + ice == bad things.

I did get to use curling strategies at a wedding last fall though. They had a shuffleboard court at the resort and I was all about putting up guards and stuff.

I admire Captain Marvel and Shazam for it's historical perspective, but honestly the pure Shazam of old is silly and not my thing... however having said that I still like the character and when he is used well (without the talking inchworm and that nonsense) like he is used in Justice Society... he's spot on.

Though with Marvel rushing to get Prime (Ultraverse still rules! Damn Marvel for buying them out and killing them off!) made into a feature film it will be tough to get Shazam off the ground without it looking like a rip-off, considering that both characters are essentially kids who become full grown heroes...

Mmmmm, thoroughly messed up Oz. As it should be. I'm sorely tempted. I beat the Wonderland Heartless last night, but Cerberus owned my ass in Olympus, so I'm stuck playing with the silly monkeys in Tarzan-land. 13 days. 13 days. Damn, that's still 13 days too many. I can deal with color bills. Did you hear that Kissinger has been appointed to head the independant investigation of September 11th? The Daily Show had fun with that.

Yeah, I'd heard about Kissenger a few days ago. I just shook my head. I mean, c'mon. The man can't go outside the country.

Yeah, Cerberus is just evil no matter where he is. I can see that. I'm envious of you and your Kingdom Hearts fun. I am, I am.

damn!

weird, I had a dream last night about the 20's in the past having had little animals and stuff on them and me finding a whole bunch of them and blah blah (it was sort of like a twilight zone episode and turned into some parable about taking stuff when you find it and not being such a goody goody all the time). but the 20's looked different!

And then we'll wonder why we can't get Canadian-style health care in this country.

It was David's fault all along!

evil, eeeeeevil dog. At least he's slow, but his feets are big ("I really hate ya cause your feet's too big!")! But dogs have been developing a strongly negative emotional index for me in recent years.

Between game falling through and the random higgledy-piggledy way Gavin's move is coming together, my weekend plans are very much up in the air. If you want to come over for some Kingdom HEarts time, I'm sure we could work that out.

Well, Star Trek X won't be out yet, but at least we'll have Treasure Planet and possibly Solaris. Or "They". "Equilibrium" will be out by then; we can find out it's suck factor for ourselves.

It looks like we missed our chance to see "The Core" in theaters. According to Yahoo, Bowling for Columbine is doing better than Jackass: The Movie, which makes me happy.

American McGee rocks my world. Seriously. I still play Alice, over and over again. I have all the action figures. This, frankly, is just going to rock. If you can, check out the comic book Oz Squad. It's horribly rare, and horribly out of print, but it's well worth the read for being a bizarre treatment of the Oz mythos.
