Whoa... That's harsh.

On the Real World they show them doing this trust workshop. One of the things is there is a boat and only one person can survive. You ahve to go aroudn the circle of people and chose one person to live. You have to tell everyone else that they die, "You die."

Wow. That would be really hard. Even just going around and doing that... Ouch. Wow.

That's supposed to build trust?

It sounds like a method devised to fracture any sense of community there might be...
"You don't matter. You don't matter.. You don't matter..."

*shudder*

Well, they have time to talk to each other and give their messages to loved ones to the person who ends up living. It's one of those, "If my life were to end right now, would I be happy with it? What do I need to change? Why do I treat these people like this...?" sorts of things.

It's just... Wow.

Ahh... I'd originally envisioned it slightly differently, with each person picking out one person whom they'd save and the rest being told they didn't matter. As a group decision instead of an individual one, it might indeed build up trust.

Well, the first time around, it's individual and then the second time around it's a group decision. Kind of strange, but it seemed to work.
