So the weekend...
Nov. 25th, 2002 10:11 amI woke up on Friday and it was good. Had a small thrill of 'feeling of doom' along my spine and shrugged it off. Went around town did some things. Talked to hockey fans who noted my jersey. Bought my comics. Lots of comicy goodness this past few weeks. Woo!
Went to the Amtrak station and met Sean. Sat around and read comics waiting for Holly. Had no real worries that she wouldn't show up. I was just feeling rather placid and disconnected, but that was okay. I shared comics with people and we found neat stuff and chatted and we got to Bellingham and... Well... the computer on the bus died and we straggled into Ferndale where the bus completely died. I was not surprised. We got a new bus and then got up to Vancouver.
I grabbed a taxi and babbled the address of the hotel I had looked up the day before and went rushing along to the hotel. Checked in there. Looking back should have used my credit card to hold the room, but I was somewhat disoriented and rushed at that point, so I asked Sean to, knowing, I was already mentally moving onto the next stage of 'Get to game on time, must go now'.
Got to the game and found our seats after a bit of confusion. Now... The game:
We sucked. Oh my God. I haven't seen us play that badly in a long, long time. There were people up for injured players that I didn't recognize. Who ever 55 (Wallin? Weller?) is, I'm going to smack him at some point. AND CUJO? WHY DID WE PAY SO MUCH FOR HIM? He was useless. Pay me that much to stand in the goal and let things go by, please. I was so glad when we put Legace in. He's at least as good as Cujo if not better. Our passing was sloppy, we put no pressure to speak of on Cloutier and we let Bertuzzi do pretty much whatever he wanted. So pathetic.
And to top it off Lapointe might become and Av. *twitch*
Anyway... Went home after the game, got some money, wandered around some and had food at Earls. Good stuff. Yum, yum. Went back to the hotel, watched the rest of True Lies and went to sleep. I can tell it's been awhile since I slept next to someone because I didn't move at all while asleep and had my arms wrapped tightly around me. Woke up a few times and finally at 7 something and mumbled things.
Got up, wished Holly and Sean off and then waited around for my Greyhound bus. Got to Bellingham and pondered calling for a ride and then laughed, knowing I still know WTA well enough to get just about anywhere in Bellingham. So I took a short walk into Fairhaven and grabbed a bus. I had an interesting talk with two teens about the universe and hung out with Marci, Sean, Cody, Luke and all of them for awhile.
Game was intersting. Going into that would be a whole other post, so... Not here or at least not now, I don't think. Masque continues to be odd and manipulative in strange ways, I don't really understand.
Good conversation on the way home. Looked at Western's new buildings. Talked some more. La la la.
Sunday was sleeping in and relaxing day. I watches the 13th Warrior and Braveheart on SciFi and reaffirmed that I need both movies on DVD. Watched the first episode of Zim on Nick. Did a nice amount of on-line RP as well. Feeling pretty good about it and Halloween is finally over. *chuckles*

Date: 2002-11-25 10:37 am (UTC)I find myself yearning for Zim.
If you still have those VCDs I may want to copy them from you at some point. I have a buncha black CDRs that aren't getting any use right now.
LMK.

Doing my part to oppress the masses.
