As another note... If this is how representative deomcracy really works, I'm not all that impressed. I'm not feeling very represented.

We're sophisticated enough computer-wise that we could almost go back to the one vote per person thing. I'm not sure if I'd trust such a system right now, but.... This representative thing is all wacked. I understand the theory, but I'd feel better if I was sure that my vote specifically counted on something. I'd vote all the time, I'd vote on everything.

*sigh* I know, I know. There are problems and blah, blah, blah and.... Ehn.

You aren't the only one getting fed up with this "representative democracy" expermient. I can think of a several other "democratic" systems I want to try, but most of them require a reliable digital election framework which is in itself a NASTY can of worms.

I can think of several ways to imporve representation, which don't need any new technology at all - at least, no the hardwired variety. We just need better concepts of dividing our states up than sheer geography.
