My lower back is slowly tightening up into a painful knot.

I am displeased by this. I can't seem to stretch it, no matter what I do.

Ah well. I will survive.

I want a nap, though.

My whole back and shoudlers just aren't terribly happy with me at the moment.

Try laying on your back, then lifting your legs up over your head and rolling slowly back until your weight is on your shoulder blades.
Your feet can either be straight up or if you bend your knees a little, try and touch the floor above your head.

Hold this for about 20 secs, then lay back out straight for 20.

repeat this a few times.

If this doesn't help, let me know and I'll give you some other stretches.
