Very interesting....

"The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

— President Thomas Jefferson.

This is one of my favorite quotes, because it always makes me think. It is currently on almost all of the telephone poles I passed on my way home on Capitol Hill.

Interesting.

Jefferson was apparently a back-stabbing asshole to the point that G. Washington shut him out for a while and refused all correspondences.

All my favorite Founding Father quotes come from Franklin.

That one's keen, though.

Martyrdom sounds really cool until you have something worth living for. Though that quote is funny in its way because it's asking for volunteers, not offering itself.

while I do not have person heroes, He would be one of the closest. He was contraction of personality. he abhored the power that the centralized government was able to wield yet when he became president wielded that same power with a deliberate fierceness to institute change. He was a terrible business man in private live and brought the Fledging state out of it's Crippling debt to other countries. I'll stop now, I know far more and I don't feel this is the place.

He's a very ineteresting man. Honestly, if you want to talk about Thomas Jefferson on my journal, I don't mind. I like to learn new things.

I blame 'American Sphinx' on what I know of him, there are other books that I haven't been able to digest as well.
