News from the front
Aug. 24th, 2009 09:21 amSo, I got my newly re-done 2007 taxes and send them in. It felt great to find out that while I did owe the IRS, it was $132 plus interest vs $7004 plus intrest. That's a fantastic freaking feeling. I'm still waiting on 2008, as it is being looked at as well, just in case, as it is likely wrong too. My fingers are crossed that that will work out just as well.
Picked up the Wonder Woman animated movie and Green Lantern: First Flight, as they were on sale. The documentary bits on Wonder Woman were actually really good, though the GL ones weren't quite as good. They both had some of my favorite JLU episodes on the discs. (Not that I don't own them other ways.) I remembered how very much I love "Once and Future Thing". It seems I have a soft spot for possible futures (though from prior experience, I usually find that I prefer snapshot glimpses and not long term exposures.)
I'm starting to gear up mentally for the housing search again, dependant on the whole taxes things. We're putting feelers out for all sorts of different possibilities. I'll get to re-apply for the home loan with my credit clear of other people and this taxes thing solved. I'm very temped to sell of some stock today. The price is nice.
Saw District 9 and Inglourious Basterds over the weekend. While I liked both movies and would recommend them, I don't think either one is something I want to own. Maybe it was where my mind was over the weekend but both of them were too violent for me to want to watch too often. District 9 made me want to see what happens next. Basterds had some of the most suspensful film I've seen in awhile. People complained about the shaky cam for District 9 but it didn't bother me that much. Bourne was much, much worse for me.
And the icon is pretty much just cause I feel like it. I needed a three day weekend more than I knew.
