VOTED!

Nov. 4th, 2008 09:52 am
I sent in my ballot last week. There were a Namor and Boba Fett stamp on it. I think it was well protected on its way to the magical vote counting land.

There are a ton of amazing stories pouring into the Slog. It is awesome to have that on my Google Reader. Here is an example of one:

"Hi Eli,

I'm an education volunteer in a rural area of southern Malawi.

Throughout this election - during the primary and the general - almost everyone here in the village of Namitembo has been paying close attention to Obama's progress. Often times, when I go out for a morning walk, I'll hear the latest election news from a teacher, one of my students, the local tailor, or one of the many, many subsistence farmers that lives around here. Just this morning, a shoesmith from the nearby trading centre stopped me to ask if I thought Obama could win McCain's home state of Arizona.

I filled out my ballot in the 7th grade classroom where I teach part-time, and all the students (along with the headmaster and a teacher from the class next door) huddled around to watch. The BBC World Service will be issuing regular updates on the radio as the polls close tonight; I know quite a few people here who'll be staying up late to listen.

I really recommend going through and reading them, they're really heartening - http://slog.thestranger.com/

I'll post more later, I'm sure.

OBAMA!

Oh my God.

I....

Wow.

Never before have I given money to a campaign.
Never before have I volunteered as much as I have for this.

Oh ...... I can't even tell you how this feels right now.

Now, I'm just worried about Rossi.

I am HAPPY

I am so very happy.

The Abortion bill in SD went down. The Human Life from Moment of Conception Amendment in Colorado went down in FLAMES. Michigan has done me proud in a lot of ways tonight. THANKS GUYS! The Transit Proposition here is going well!

There are still a few things out there that need thoughts and prayers, though.

Prop 8 and 4 in California are still close. The Governor's race here in Washington is much closer than I'd like.

I am so full of hope.
