But there are a /lot/ of things out there right now that deserve your attention and your money, if you have it.

I will start with The Red Cross. There are a lot of people around the world helped by The Red Cross and while, yes, there is need for it in Lousiana and Mississippi, there is need for it all over the world. I'll be donating here today.

And on an entirely different note, on this site there is an effort going on to raise money to save and restore this house. There are other charities here, which are also doing good work but this effort to save the house is closer to my heart for obvious reasons. That and there are completely awesome things for auction.

Anyway, I have things I need to get done today on my day off.

Though the kitties are very cuddly...
Don LaFontaine, the most famous movie trailer voice-over announcer ever, (He's the 'In a World guy') has passed away at the age of 68 from complications of a collapsed lung. I'll miss him.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" co-creator Kevin Eastman has confirmed the rumors that Imagi and Warner Bros. are in talks to develop a new live-action movie based on the characters.

Mark Millar keeps talking about Superman movies. Is this him just trying to keep the buzz going associated with his name or is there something really there? I don't know. He's also talking about Wanted 2. And Wanted 3. *sighs*

http://transformers.moviechronicles.com/2008-08/high-resolution-video-of-the-long-beach-explosion/ - Transformers explosion! A Michael Bay movie has explosions? NO WAY!

Colbert on Sarah Palin.

Here is some more on the legal battle on The Watchmen.

Director Vadim Perelman is in talks to helm MGM's Poltergeist remake. Really? Really? Oi. ENOUGH with the uneeded remakes.
