Stuff and things and stuff.
Aug. 12th, 2008 09:11 amIt is currently 82 degrees in my office. That is wrong. Sick and wrong. It is usually a freezer in here. What the hell, people?
Grant Morrison is among the writers who’ve pitched to Warner Brothers for a Superman movie. His is an approach that pretends Superman Returns never happened. Which probably works just fine, truth be told. Apparently Geoff Johns has also submitted a pitch. It is nice that Warner Brothers is actually /talking/ to the people who write comics. I know, something of a unique idea.
Seth Green and Breckin Meyer are joining Heroes for a few episodes. They're playing comic book geeks. Well. I think Seth has that one down.
Iron Man will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on Sept. 30. Wooooo!
CBS is looking to make Hawaii Five-0 2.0. Which... Well. *shrugs*
ABC is looking to do a tv series based on The Witches of Eastwick. Let me just say this upfront. The /ONLY/ reason that movie works AT ALL are the people in it.
Columbia Pictures has this spy movie that they want to make - Edwin A. Salt. It was expected to star Tom Cruise. That won't be happening. So, check this out. It is apparently going to be rewritten by screenwriter Kurt Wimmer for a new star. That star? Angelina Jolie. Interesting choice.
An interesting and fun list of comics is over here: http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2008/08/11/comics-should-be-good-top-50-countdown-master-list/
And now that I see there is a HUGE kerfuffle amongst the Twilight fans about the new book, I might have to do some research on the newest one. (AKA, reading Wiki.) To quote from the Slog article I was reading: "There’s an interesting postscript to this midnight sale madness: half the fans hate Breaking Dawn with a disturbing passion. I’m not talking about snarky people who are reading the books for a laugh, I’m talking about the serious fans of the first three books. The response to the book has been so bad that fans are organizing online to return copies of Breaking Dawn in protest. Fans on Amazon are announcing that they don’t consider Breaking Dawn canon, and that the Twilight series is a trilogy that ended with the last book. Some are calling for Meyer to rewrite the ending." That's a hell of a thing.
I need new icons people. Send them my way.
