Lemme see. So, today was a loooooong day.

I got up around 7 and then puttered around and headed out to the convention center. It was a little too early because when I got there, they were not letting people in just yet. Even still, I ended up getting in and heading in to get tickets for toys. Then I went to the Batman: Brave and Bold panel. It is a long way away from the Bruce Timm animated series but I have to say.... I love it. If only because there is Jamie Reyes in it. JAMIE! Can I just say that is fantastic?

Then I made my way to get my TruBlood gift bag, which has a comic, a t-shirt and the first Charlaine Harris novel in it. I like the shirt. From there, I went down and got into the SHORTEST Hall H line, I've ever been in. It took me about a minute to walk in but Hall H was full for the Watchmen pannel. I have to say, the trailer interested me but damned if listening to the actors speak intelligently about the characters, what they loved about them, the thought processes they had about them.... And, well, new footage. I'm feeling faintly optimistic here, which I never thought would happen.

Then, I went and got a Power Pony, My Little Pony as well as the Savage Land set. I did not get Giganta, as they were out of her when I got to the booth. I will try again tomorrow. Then I picked up the first two Question trades, which caught my eye as I was looking for Powers trade #6. OMG! The Question in trades. I'm excited. Which worked out well, since I needed Shiva source material for Aaron Lopresti. I have this problem when asking for sketches - I like characters that no one knows who the hell they are. Alas. Heh.

After that I went to the Batman panel which was a bit more like the Joker panel since every one was talking about the movie. It was okay and worth the time, even if only to get to listen to Dustin Ngyuen, Grant Morrison, Paul Dini and Brian Azzarello talk about comics passionately.

Next, for me, was the Geoff Johns spotlight. He's going to be doing Flash Rebirth and will have everyone in it. I'm looking forward to this. I thanked him for bringing more women into the GLC as well as making them more important and less canon fodder. I also asked him about his story process - how he started with ideas and moved them into stories. I found it interesting that he starts with characters and in a lot of cases that shows. I don't always agree with his choices but he reinvented Flamebird and brought Arisia back from the dead. He gets a lot of credit from me on that. The panel was interesting, even though most of the questions were pretty typical fanboy type questions. Though he did mention that there was likely going to be a non-comics sort of announcement for him on Sunday at the panel.

I wandered the Dealer's Room floor next. I gave my source material to Mr. Lopresti and chatted with him a bit. (The girl in the newly solicited Wonder Woman cover with her arms in the muscle pose is his daugher.) I then went and chatted with Terry Dodson briefly and picked up a sketchbook from him as well. I found Matt Haley's booth and I got a hug. He gave me a copy of his sketchbook and we talked about how things are going for him. (Anyone down here who wants a sketch, he's not gotten a ton of them on his list this year since he isn't in Artists' Alley this year.) Then I went hunting for Dustin Ngyuen's table, which was totally not at ALL where the program said it was, though that did bring me to see Philip Tan's table and his LOVELY Cassandra Cain print. I found the table and got the chibi posters, as well as his new sketchbook. He sketched a picture of Ivy for me and seemed surprised that I've been following his work since WildC.A.T.S. days. I love his style.

Then we went for dinner and then ice cream and now we are here at the hotel.

I am tired and I should sleep but I'm not quite that tired, I don't think. Still, I will get changed and climb between the sheets.
