So.

The on-line shoping experience for baby thigs in Canada, as far as I can tell, sucks. Any of you Candaians out there have any recommendations as to where someone would look to shop on-line for a fellow Canadian? My sister is having a baby and there are THINGS, THINGS I tell you, that I wish to purchase for her. Apparently we (reading Amazon) do not ship baby things to Canada. *grump*

Do you like Mozart?

So. Money is coming to me. After I put a chunk into savings and a chunk into a lovely IRA... I have a few stops for the money train.

Stop 1 - Finish paying off Sean. Yeah!
Stop 2 - New glasses
Stop 3 - Fixing computers (Possibly replacing one or the other if they are not fixable.)
Stop 4 - Something probably involving hair and wedding outfit and general clothing and girly things.

*nods* This is a good plan. I like it.
It has been awhile.

I know. I sorry.

WB has picked up Frank Miller's Ronin. The guy who made Stomp The Yard is attached to direct. Not a lot of confidence there but you never know.

A lot of Spidey-3 reviews out there. Hopefully I'll be able to give you mine tonight.

The Iron Man (Mark III) suit looks pretty awesome. If you haven't seen it yet, you can look here.

Unsurprisingly, The Cavemen plot (based on those Geico ads?) is AWFUL, or so I am hearing.

Apparently since Buffy season eight is doing so well, we're going to be getting an Angel season six for certain but Joss won't be as involved in it, though he will be involved.

The reviews for Die Hard 4 and Shrek 3 are a bit underwhelming. Which isn't really a surprise but is disappointing, especially for the first one.

The new trailer for FF4-2. And it still looks cool but I'm hearing from things about Galactus. (Think Ultimate if you read the comics.) And the trailer no one has really been wating for but I'm giving you anyway, Rush Hour 3. Jackie Chan is looking a bit older and a bit more... refined. Other than that it looks much like what you would expect. And here is the second trailer for Balls of Fury in case you haven't seen it yet.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford has a release date. Finally. Sepetember 21st. There was a lot of studios wanting an Eastwood flick, which this wasn't at all and so they went back and re-edited and re-edited. I'm just happy I'll get to see it.

And that's it for now.
Let me take you on a little trip down memory lane. And no, I'm not going to spoil anything.

Superman 3. Sucks
Batman 3 - The Kilmer Edition. Sucks
X-men 3. Really, do I have to say it?
Matrix 3 - Ehn.
Aliens 3 - Bad (though the director's cut has some saving graces.)

I could go on and, in fact, did this evening for a decent amount of time. Before you get all afraid that I hated the movie, let me say that I didn't hate it. I liked it.

The tragedy of it is, I could have loved it.

This is a movie which starts out excellently. Anyone who knows Spider-Man at all (or, in fact has seen the first two movies) knows where things are going to go from here. The pacing is nice, the movie is well done and you really think that you're in for an excellent ride.

And you are. Until a scene about 3/5th of the way through the thing. I don't have to say more than that. You'll know which scene I'm talking about when it happens. I do not think there was anyone in the theater over the age of 12 who was not pulled entirely out of the movie by the scene. I was almost embarrassed by it because it so did not seem to fit with the tone of the movie. There was some cheese before this but it wasn't so over the top so as to be bad.

And from there, while there is a lot of great stuff after that, the movie never entirely recovers. There is too much going on, there are too many plots and there are too many characters. A lot of what happens seems to happen because there is a feeling that they should. There is an entire subplot which I would have taken out and built another movie on, which is a damned shame.

The fights are awesome. Some of the special effects feel a little unfinished in places. The actors, especially Franco, are top notch.

I give it a 6.5 out of 10. (And at some point, once you've seen it, I'll be more than willing to talk, in detail, about why I think comparing this movie to Return of the Jedi is just about perfect.)
