What to say... what to say...
Sep. 8th, 2004 07:23 amWell, the flights were both very smooth. Smoothest I've experienced in a long, long time, really. I met some interesting people in the airport. In fact, this really seemed to be my weekened to talk to random strangers....
Anyway... I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I want to say about the weekend. It isn't that I don't have things to say, I'm trying to sort out how they should be said.
I learned a lot about myself this weekend. I went down there to meet a friend and through lots of ill luck and horrible communication failures we didn't see each other much. I was able to just shrug this off for most of the weekend. I had two bad points, however. You see, some of this was like walking into my worst nightmare and I'm rather amazed at how well I did. If I have a severe fear, it is being alone. Not alone by choice, that I'm okay with. No, being alone because that's how things fall out. The worst is when I'm by myself and I can't get ahold of anyone at all. Luckily for me, I have a cell phone and a lot of people to call.
Those of you who I talked to this weekend.... Thanks. And Joe, I am so, so, so, so sorry I spaced that you were down there. I'm a complete moron, apparently.
So.... For the good stuff and most of the weekend was good. I went to the Space Center. It's pretty cool down there. I learned things about space and NASA and got a good visual idea of how big the Shuttle is.... bigger than I thought it was. Not so big as submarines but still fairly large. I went to the Natural History museum and saw butterflies and mummies and dinosaurs. I had to fight with myself not to bring home a statue of Sekmhet. I went to the Galleria and it is huge. I almost bought a leather jacket because they were on sale and the sales girl was super cute... but I fought that off. That and they didn't have any that I really liked on sale. I went to the aquarium and wow that was cool.
I watched /lots/ of movies. I played a fair bit of DDR as well.
I have things to do here at work, though. Training. So, don't expect to hear too much out of me today.
