X3: British magazine New indicates Britney Spears has been eagerly eyeing a role in the next installment of the X-Men franchise. All I have to say is thank God for Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. They aren't signed and if they're going to be signed the script and cast have to meet their expectations.

Fox has apparently cut the number of prints for the re-issue of Alien: The Director's Cutin the US from 1200 prints to only 350. That is not a good thing.

CNN reports that Steve Martin is the top contender for the lead role of bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau in the remake of Birth of the Pink Panther.

Director Ron Howard and Producer Brian Grazer are making a dark Western drama about a kidnapping, called The Missing.

There are more Troy pictures popping up in places. The newest is Paris and Helen together.

Warner Bros. will release the new soundtrack for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King on November 25. The official website has updated with new interviews with Viggo Mortensen discussing Aragorn in the third film, as well as new interviews with Karl Urban and director Peter Jackson.

New Line Cinema has given the go ahead to The Rock comedy Instant Karma, to be produced by visual f/x studio Digital Domain and Shrek and Pirates of the Caribbean writers Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott. The film will blend live action and CGI to tell the story of a safecracker, played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who dies and is reincarnated as a series of different animals, moving his way up the food chain. There are a lot of cool names attached to this.

Check out what the Sentinel sketches for X2 look like. These would not have been stupid looking purple robots. They look kind of scary. Maybe we'll see them in the future?
