4. "The sanctity of human life, created in the image of God, which should be protected from fertilization to natural death."

6. "Self-sufficient families, founded on the traditional marriage of a natural man and a natural woman."

9. "A free enterprise society unencumbered by government interference or subsidies."

I'm not even getting into the census parts or the places where it seems that they're still thinking about leaving the union but at the same time the Federal government better do what they want, darn it.

"Texas Sodomy Statutes – We oppose the legalization of sodomy. We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy." - I don't think this word means what you think it means. Or maybe it does and you're all just hypocrites.

"Age of Consent – We support raising the age of consent for consensual sex to 18 years." Again, I don't think this is going to do what you seem to think it will.

"Controversial Theories – Realizing that conflict and debate is a proven learning tool in classrooms, we support objective teaching and equal treatment of all sides of scientific theories, including evolution, Intelligent Design, global warming, political philosophies, and others. We believe theories of life origins and environmental theories should be taught as challengeable scientific theory subject to change as new data is produced, not scientific law. Teachers and students should be able to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of these theories openly and without fear of retribution or discrimination of any kind." - What? I... What?

I think there are about half a dozen people in Texas that're worthwhile; apart from them I'd nuke the state from orbit.

I thought King of the Hill was visible proof that that should have been done. :)

Um...evolution isn't a controversial theory. It's a widely accepted scientific theory that even the freakin' Vatican approves of.

As opposed to intelligent design, which has absolutely NO factual basis whatsoever.

The day someone tries to force me to teach intelligent design in the classroom is the day I quit. (And, for the record, I taught in a Catholic high school for 5 years and not once was it even hinted that I should mention intelligent design. In fact, I wasn't expected to discuss creationism, or any of its brother or sister theories, in the classroom at all because it's not SCIENCE.)

Sometimes I hate people.

So, if Sodomy is made illegal, does that mean the Texas Republicans are no longer allowed to fuck the American people up the ass?

Chilling to see this happening in our country.

Miss Ann, God love her, once said how unfortunate it was that the star on the Texas Capitol building wasn't leading more wise men inside.

Oh, more than half a dozen, but we're mostly in Travis County. Though the proportions shift in the years when the Lege is in session.

Texas wants to repeal speed limits!
Just proves, in addition the wholesale outlawing of homosexuality and repealing Hates Crimes Act, oh yeah and minimum wage, that Texas is totally off its nut!

Hey, some of us are in Williamson County, too. If they could somehow manage to nuke the rest of the state and the politicians but leave the rest of the Austin metro area alone, that would be great. ;p

True! One of the coolest Texans I know (and she's a third-generation native) is on your side of the county line.
