Update on me
Oct. 4th, 2009 09:33 pmSo. What's up with me?
Well, there is still some legal stuff to look at on the house. There is a chance (as they're still installing carpets and such) that everything won't be done before the $8K credit ends, so they're writing up a provision for me to look at where they'll cover that $8K somewhere - either as less cost, an extra percentage or just $8K to me. I'm going through ups and downs with this - from terrified to excited to not feeling much at all... It helps the process that I'm likely not going to be able to close until November some time and, well, at that point, I might as well finish off the lease here and move very slowly.
I took a LARGE load of books over to Half Price. I'll be able to get rid of a tall bookshelf and two small bookshelves. While the new place has more room, it doesn't have as much blank wall space, so that will come in handy. I'm also thinking of getting an entirely new tank for Morla as he has slowly but surely gotten bigger and this doesn't seem as thought it is big enough for him these days. Over the week, I'll go through my comics and decide what I'll be getting rid of and what I'll be keeping. I'll put up a list of what I'm looking to move here before I try to sell anything.
The new place is just a few blocks away from the new dojo of the school I used to go to when Holly and I lived in Lake City. I'm going to be looking into getting back into karate again - even if I'm not great at it, I appreciated the ability to hit things and it made me feel better, more centered. The Gold's Gym is just a block or so beyond that, so, that's a great thing as well.
What else... Saw Zombieland today and I liked it. There are a lot of good bits in it. A lot of movies in the next few weeks that I'm looking forward to seeing as well as a few that are out now that I'd like to be able to catch before they vanish.
If you haven't seen this, you should: http://money.cnn.com/2009/10/01/news/economy/_morgue/index.htm "Inside the Wayne County morgue in midtown Detroit, 67 bodies are piled up, unclaimed, in the freezing temperatures. Neither the families nor the county can afford to bury the corpses. So they stack up inside the freezer."
There will be a one game playoff for the Tigers against the Twins on Tuesday.
I think that's all I've got right now. I'm going to watch the end of "Hunt For Red October."
