I'm giving blood in like an hour.

I already feel kind of tingly.

I don't really have a fear of giving blood, I just typically have a bit of a difficult time giving blood. They have to stick the needle into me a few times. This definately causes me to have endorphins running. Thus I get giddy and thus I get this freaky panicky reaction before I go and do it. I'll be fine once the needle is in me, but until then I'll be a little ... hyper almost.

I can almost understand the appeal of shooting up. Almost.

I can definitely understand that.

As I child, I had a fear of needles. Even the little blood draw from our annual checkup was fearful enough to get me into hysterics. At one point it took 3 nurses to hold me down while a fourth did the blood draw, and I still managed to spray blood on the ceiling.

When I was a teenager, I confronted this the best way I could; I started donating blood. By the time I had my 2-gallon pin, my fear had settled into the kind of endorphin rush you describe.

Then I started getting tattoos.

*nods* I give blood because its one of those good thigns that I can do. I typically don't make enough money to give any away to charity, so this is one of those ways I can help out.

That and I want one of those pins.

I want another tattoo, as well.

"I want another tattoo, as well."

So this is the starter set? TRaining wheels for a new tatt?

(I want another one, too)

Nah. I just don't have a design I want for the tattoo yet. My last tattoo was relatively painless.

Well, you could always get the next one someplace bonier.

Yeah, like the inside of your arm or your ankle or anywhere directly over your spine. Get it in one of those places. You'll like it.

Hmmm. Maybe I'll get a spinal tatto next. Now just to choose a design...

Funny, here I was just thinking I needed a new one myself. Something small and subtle, insofar as a tattoo can be subtle. Max doesn't want me turning into the Painted Lady. :)

I should probably give blood a couple times before the next tat. I haven't for a couple years: I always either had a fresh tat or a recent piercing or was ill or hated all of humanity. Now that I'm finally at a point where none of those is very true, I may as well donate again.

WE'll see. It depends on the design.
