Paved paradise and put in a parking lot...

“Stretch Armstrong” is getting a movie in 2011. Usually I'd just grimace at this but Steve Oedekerk and Brian Grazer are involved which would indicate to me that there might be something interesting going on there. Still, it makes me cringe a bit.

Bleeding Cool’s Rich Johnston reports that actor Brian Blessed will play Odin in “Thor". That's FANTASTIC casting if true.

Some of these alternate covers are awesome - http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=21429 I'm picking up the one with Rogue Vogue-ing on it. Because... Well... C'mon.

Deadline Hollywood Daily states Javier Bardem will play the villain in Wall Street 2.

Bryan Singer told MTV that he misses the X-men and wouldn't at all mind going back to play in that sandbox.

There is a remake of Barbarella coming by the guy who did Legally Blonde. Enh.

Brian Austin Green is in advanced talks to join the cast of ‘One Tree Hill’. Damned shame, that.

Universal Pictures has grabbed thr rights to "Where's Waldo". Because that will entirely be a thrilling movie. Where is my Carmen Sandiego movie? At least that would be interesting.

“I’m intimately involved with it,” Ryan Reynolds says about the Deadpool movie to HitFix. “It’s going to be just like the comic books. I’m gonna have a messed up face and you may see some flashbacks of Wade earlier in his life, but primarily what you see is what you get in the comics and that’s the goal. And there is no better place to draw material from then the comics which are incredible.”

Halle Berry is in talks to join a movie about a couple who want to have a baby through a surrogate mother only to find out she's totally CRAZY.

Heathcliff is going to get a big screen movie, though there aren't a ton of details on when or what kind or anything like that.

The Smurfs movie is still set for a December 17, 2010 release. There are starting to be marketing materials for the thing.

And I think that's it for now.

Brian Blessed really does need to be in the Thor movie somewhere. Odin, Volstagg, whatever, as long as he is in it

No Gambit movie? Would be more interesting.

And Blessed could do Odin. Also, he's make a mind-shatteringly awesome Volstagg of the Warriors 3.

Currently there is no Gambit movie planned, though there are people talking about it. And I think that they'd both be a lot of fun. I love Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds.

Er, so they're going to pretend Origins never happened then?

That said, I actually liked the new Baraka-flavored Deadpool. The only exciting part of that movie was everything after Deadpool showed up.

I have no idea what their plan is for it but Ryan Reynolds is a HUGE Deadpool nerd, as I'm learning from interviews. I liked the first bits with Deadpool. I wasn't so sure about the whole albino-sword-armed-guy.

I kind of rolled my eyes at it at first but I have to admit I was sufficiently impressed once things started rolling--I mean, not classic Deadpool, but he was still pretty badass. Give that guy a shower, some tights, and something badder than himself to fight, and I'll show up for it.

His powers were pretty gross though. He's a little too uber-powered in this version.
