So, I know I'm going to forget some here. Please forgive. I took a two week break or so around Thanksgiving. Work turned my brain off. The Kim Harrison books were read on the trip to New Orleans and I know I read something between the last update and that, so I'm likely missing a few.

- Desire of the Everlasting Hills by Thomas Cahill - I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. He has a very engaging writing style and relates things in a way which makes you more interested to continue on. While toward the end there was more conjecture and personal opinion than textual anaylsis. Still, I would very much like to read his other books.

and 52 - For a Few Demons More and The Outlaw Demon Wails by Kim Harrison. These are still enjoyable. I just get to a place where when I start a series I have a hard time stopping. It isn't that I don't like these books, it is more that they're light reading that I'm not really taking seriously. Each of these takes me about a day or so to read and, I have to admit, I really like Jenks.

- Seduce Me by Sunrise by Lise Kleypas. I needed a book on the flight back from New Orleans and I ended up getting two. I used to actually get some enjoyment out of romance novels but now they mostly just annoy me. I get tired of there almost always being some sort of 'kiss her until she shuts up' scene or a 'she's mad at me so I'll seduce her and she'll forget about it' scene or 'save the girl from danger and she falls in love with me' scene. I've found that I've become a lot less tolerant for characters who are entirely passive.

- American Creation by Joseph J. Ellis - This was really interesting. I learned quite a bit out of this book about how the country came together and at a few points almost actually entirely failed to gel at all. I also took away that Jefferson was nuttier than a freaking fruitcake in a few very interesting ways.

, 56 and 57 - The Lion of Senet, Eye of the Labyrinth and Lord of the Shadows by Jennifer Fallon - I liked these a lot. There were a few of the characters that I wanted to shake but that ended up being a very good thing in the end because it helped move the plot. (Not that I wanted to shake them but that they were that sort of character.) These were much better than the Wolflbade books and I liked those as well and would recommend those. Though not the Demon Child trilogy since that ended up being sort of ehn.

and 59 Karavans and Deepwoods by Jennifer Roberson - I've had Karavans on my shelf for over a year now and just now got around to picking it up and reading it. I don't know why that happens some times. I'll want to read a book but I just have to get a point or a place of mind in order to read them. I've torn through these quickly, though and I'll likely have time for another book before the end of the year.
