Paterson Joseph's a great actor, but... I dunno. Rusty and his gang seem to get a kick out of playing headgames with the fans.

I'll give whoever it is a fair chance, and if it is him then he's likely to do a good job. But there's so much hype over it right now that I don't take any report seriously - people actually believed that Billie was on the short-list!

It's going to be weird to watch Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways again and see him in it once he's been the Doctor.

It also makes it difficult to see Mickey being the next companion, at least after the specials.

I'd dig him as the Doctor...but would have to agree that it'll be wierd to go back and see him there and later see him as the Doctor.

As talented as the writers are, they may work in an explanation for that.

Or they might not.. and leave it a mystery.. :)

Mind you, I'm not happy about David Tennant leaving the show. In fact, I had a gigantic hissy fit when this went down.

I just.. realize that the same thing happened with Chris Eccleson, whom I LOVE, and it worked out ok with his replacement. So, I'm just keeping good thoughts.

No, I can basically assure you that it really is Paterson Joseph. A friend of mine writes for the show and he Couldn't Say over the weekend, but he did mention having twenty quid on Joseph and expecting to win it. :)

Colin Baker was a foe in a 5th Doctor episode so there is precedent.
