Soooo.... UPDATE!

Gotham City need you to vote! Seriously, people! Go vote! (And read that website. It is chock full of goodness. I mean, where else would you find out about the Wham movie?)

They're making a live action and animated Smurfs movie. First question: Why? Second question: No, really, why? And then you get to trying to cast Gargamel, who will likely be the live action part of this equation.

Brokeback Mountain: The Opera. Yeah. I.... Yeah.

M. Night Shyamalan talks about why he wants to make Avatar: The Last Airbender as a movie: “I loved the characters in the story and I felt like I could be me inside this larger canvas of this very long-form movie. I think it inherently had kind of family issues and serious larger topics — at the center, genocide — all kinds of stuff. Cultural differences at the center. It has Buddhism, Hinduism, things I’m interested in. It does have martial arts in a way that’s not bang bang bang, but more about the person mastering yourself and the things that I love. I took martial arts for a long time. A ten-year-old at the center. That point of view felt good, like I could do my thing.”

Louis Leterrier says he's interested in making more Hulk movies. Let us see if the same can be said for Ed Norton. He /is/ a pretty big Hulk geek, so... It is possible.

my Gargamel = Dustin Hoffman. Totally.

Huh. That's actually pretty awesome.

BTW, are there any birthday plans that I have missed in my much flakiness?

No. I had thought about making plans and then saw how crazy my own June was becoming. I also was going to make a big to-do about going out on Friday night with Leigh (the 6th) but then was sick and had to scrap those plans.

I'm contemplating a get together thing at the end fo the month (28th or so) but I'm still unsure as to place / focus / etc.

*nods* Kay. If you want to do anything this weekend (other than D&D) or next weekend, I'm somewhat open. Lemme know. 28th, I'm visiting Megan.

hrm. k.
Well earlier on the 14th (~11am) we have a homeschool convention we need to go to, but I might go out Friday night.

The 21st MIGHT be camping, depending on weather.

I'll let ya know.

Not sure about Friday as I'm getting back from Reno that day and I /think/ I have something already but depending on what you do, I might be able to jump in.

Avatar doesn't have Buddhism! Highly derivative, yes, but their whole religious complex is its own thing. (And where does he see Hinduism at all?) I am now very suspicious about this movie plan.

No idea. Don't even watch the show. Just know lots of people who read this do.

My writing partner got ahold of the script for "The Happening" last year. She said it was good, definitely a departure for M. Night but still not quite at the level of Sixth Sense.

Interesting. I sort of want to see it and yet....
