AOTC at Seattle's Cinerama Dome
Tue, Apr 16, 02 12:30:13 AM EDT

Looks like the force was with the 2 Seattle lineup guys as they took a chance lining up at Seattle's Cinerama movie theatre anticipating the premiere of Episode II. From John Guth of SeattleStarWars.com:

Well, it's for sure. Star Wars EPISODE II will be opening at the Seattle Cinerama movie theatre on May 16th. Movie times will be released soon.

It will open on a regular 35mm print and then a couple of weeks later it will be presented on an all new digital projection system unlike any other in the country.

I will know later this week when tickets will be going on sale and on what medium they will be available, so keep posted.

I'll probably wait until the digital format... unless someone wants to go see it with me on the Alanis Morrisette Clause.

I still think it was practically a given that AOTC would open at the Cinerama. I missed TPM when it was up there. Just want to be able to see it once in the Cinerama. How I love that place. Of course, I have only seen four movies there, and every one of them has been a Steven Spielberg film. Do I really want to add another director to that mix? :)

Damn.

I was hoping they'd get screwed over bythe Cinerama showing Spider Man.

Ha. I've seen lots of things there. Honestly, there is nothing more fun than seeing a movie there on opening night. The crowd is always full of other people who love it.

Everything is better on that screen.

As if. Paul Allen wants to try out his digital toys.

The opening night crown in Lakewood (where I saw TPM) was a lot of fun too. Not annoying like some crowds are, we all just had fun.

The screen, the sound, the ability to buy food with a debit card at the snack line, and those funky looking comfortable purple chairs in the lobby all make movies that much better.

May have to use up my vacation and go wait in line now.

I love the Cinerama. I love it. I see anything I can there. I saw X-men, Harry Potter and Fellowship of the Ring there on Opening Night.

All good stuff. So much fun.

I've only caught the Indian Jones Trilogy and ET. Tried to see LOTR, but the line was a few blocks long, and that was for a show three shows later that day. Walked to Pacific Place instead and saw it. Went deaf too.

I saw the first and third Indy movies.

Mmmmm... Indy.

I wanted to skip the second one, but to be complete, I saw it. However, I don't own that one on LaserDisc, just the first and third (or should I say second and third because cronologically, TOD is first.)

I miss Indy movies. We all need more movies like that.

LaserDisc! eee! We bought one of those in Japan. My parents still have it. It was one of the ones that played both sides without flipping.

Yeah. We need more like that. Yeah.

Mine plays both sides too. Sometimes it doesn't work (like sometimes it doesn't open) but it's the only way to watch Star Wars without settling for VHS.

*nods* I generally agree. I wish I still had mine, but it died.

I was looking into getting a new one a while back, mainly one that had a Dolby Digital out. I decied against it because I really had no reason to have one. The majority of my LD have been converted to DVD. And even most of those, I'll keep the LD version because of missing stuff, and you don't need Dolby Digital for the two hour Jaws documentary.

Or do you . . .

They are the Dames from Sin City, a wonderful Frank Miller comic series from Dark Horse. DH did a series of prints, first B&W then finally color, and those are the thumbnails from that series. Wanted to try and make an animated icon, and what better subjects than women from Sin City?
