I love the Red Wings. These links are for people who are interested in them. There is some well written stuff out there as the playoffs are about to start. The first one is kind of funny.

One about the Canucks pulling an upset.

My calls for the first round:
Detroit v. Vancouver - Detroit
L.A. v Colorado - Colorado
Phoenix v. San Jose - San Jose
Chicago - St. Louis - Chicago

Montreal v. Boston - Montreal (Their captain just came back from beating cancer this year. They could do anything.)
Ottawa v. Philly - Philly
New Jersey v. Carolina - New Jersey
Islanders v. Toronto - Islanders

*laughs* Well, I was pretty nuetral on that one, so I had to give it to the Blackhawks simply due to the "Haven't won a Cup in 50+ years" factor.

Actually, I have no idea how the Blues will do, but I have to root for them and thing nothing but of their assured victory.

*Ahem*

Something in the St. Louis water... I swear.

*nods* I'm sure that they do put something in their water for just such purposes. It's okay. It's not your fault. *grins*

Gotta go with BOston over Montreal. Koivu is back and that's a good story, but they just aren't a very good team. Otherwise, pretty accurate.

I think the story will come in the 3rd round, Detroit v. Colorado. Whoever wins that is going to win the cup IMO - no one out East can touch those two teams.

I just have to go with Koivu. I don't honestly think they're going to win, but I hope so.

I have to agree with you. Unless there is some serious upset action, it will come down to Detroit and Colorado and fuck will that be ugly.

*laughs* At least you know about it.

It used to take 8 playoff games to win the Stanley Cup. Eight and only eight, thusly... the octopus.

*peers at you*

What are you smoking again? Whatever it is it has to be pretty strong. I'm not sure if I want to ask for some or not.

I thought it was something about if one of the red wings has a hat trick...

I heard of another team whose fans throw rats on the ice. is that the same kind of thing??

Well, they do make an appearance when people get hat tricks. People just throw them on the ice from time to time.

The rats people are the Florida Panthers. I remember once seeing the sice covered with the plastic rats... It was neat.

The rats are typically plastic. Yes, they tend to use real octopi, though I have seen stuffed animal and plastic ones.
