That's what the lady I often see on the bus said to me as we talked about my night last night. One of these days I should remember to give her one of my cards. Because she's good people and familiar to me in a lot of ways. I'm sure I've seen her at NorWesCon at some point.

Anyway. Back to the source of the quote.

Yesterday was a good day. It was followed up by a good vendor dinner. I've been invited by the VP of that company to come out with them whenever they're in town. So, that's cool. I think I could actually be friends with some of them above and beyond work. Also cool. They ordered a lot of really good wine. I like wine.

So, I get home, having probably had a glass more than I should have but not at all debilitating. And I check my e-mail. Which I really, looking back, would have been happier not doing. The problems awaiting me in e-mail really crashed out the happy time feeling I was having. So, I went to sleep not too long after that.

You'd think at that point it would be sleepy time until I got up for work. You would totally be wrong. At around... Oh... 4:30 my upstairs neighbors decided to test their sound system. Apparently they weren't too sure that it was working as well as they might like. I can tell them that it works just freaking fine, thank you.

Bastards.

I didn't mind too much on a weekend. I can handle that but on a week day is just too much. I agree with her. "It's like some horrible college cliche. Who actually thinks doing something like that is okay?"

So, yeah. I'm a wee bit grumpy right now. Where 'wee bit' means I sort of want to punch someone. Probably just once or twice, really.

I swear some people can just tell when you're having a horrible time of it and seem to thrive on doing the worst thing for you.
