I love Wil Wheaton.

And I'm thrilled that Accolon totally won the Omegathon. I never thought that Jenga could be such a tense freaking game. I enjoyed my time at PAX this weekend, more because of the time I got to spend with awesome, awesome friends and be around awesome things.

It was a good time. And barely because of the games and free stuff.

And I want to do it again next year.

That was a fantastic speech. Even my mother, whose only foray into gaming has been web-based casual games, was nodding along with the end of his speech when she stopped by while I was listening to it. Thanks for the link.

Glad you had fun. :)

You and Holly were the perfect people to see the Sam and Max panel with. :-D

Great speech, except for the part where I want to smack him for using language that excludes women. Even that wasn't bad until the fanBOYS fanBOYS fanBOYS at the end. (I'm sure the audience did look like that from where he was standing, but it still makes me mad.)

Well, it isn't his fault the language is slanted toward the male, really. And fanpeople sounds really dumb. I highly doubt that it was on purpose, though the argument can go that exclusion by forgetting can be just as bad....

It made me happy to be a gamer.

"Fanboy" is derived from "fan"!

I really did mostly like it a lot, I just wish he had a daughter to play video games with too.

It is derived from fan but it isn't the same at all in usage. At least it isn't for me. There is an entirely different set of connotations that comes with it. Fan is a casual thing to me where fanboy is devout.

I agree that it has connotations, but to me "fanboy" is more obnoxious, so I wouldn't mind being classed as "fan" instead. Wim suggested the ridiculous "fanchild", which cracked me up.

Fanchild sounds almost like flowerchild, which just starts to go odd places all sorts of quick.

Ah, language.

PAX was so awesome, but I'm glad it's over. I'm exhausted. It was great to hang out with you guys!
