Comic Con

Hrmmm. It is pretty much impossible to explain Comic Con to someone who hasn't been there but let me try. Imagine a building where all of the coolest stuff your geeky heart desires has been shoved into rooms and corners and is being pimped out - specifically for you. Everything you could possibly want is in this building, along with a large portion of the people who /make/ these cool things for you to talk to.

All you have to do is find it.

Now, imagine that there are over 100,000 other people trying to do THE EXACT SAME THING.

There are moments where you are all joined together in moments of awe and glee. There are moments where you're all collectively awkward and getting in each others way. All in all, you're surrounded by people who it is nearly impossible to be TOO GEEKY in front of. (I'm sure it can be done - it would be a challenge for me.)

And on top of it all, there are lines. Lots of lines. Super long lines. http://www.funkyhorror.com/WomWom.htm But they all lead to goodness. (And just because it isn't /your/ goodness doesn't mean it isn't someone's goodness.)

I hung out with Sean, Holly, Andy and Laura for a few days and it was awesome. I needed a few days like this. It was good. And next year, I want more people to come down. Holly, Sean and I are pre-regged already. My number is less than 4000!

Next summer is going to be a pretty kick ass movie summer. Iron Man alone is... Wow.

And now, I really should get some work done.
