Oh dear... Movie stuff.

So. There are a billion rumors about a Knight Rider movie. Right now they're leaning toward starting fresh and essentially turning the pilot episode into a movie. (Where have I heard this before?) And if there is a new K.I.T.T. it probably won't be a Trans Am because Pontiac was kajillions of dollars for that. David Hasselhoff is trying to stay involved in the project because he really liked it but they're all trying to move on without him - which makes me a little sad. All in all, while I loved Knight Rider with a firey passion when I was younger, I wish Hollywood would stop strip mining my childhood. Does every generation feel this way? I think it is worse than it has been in years past.

I've been saying it to people in person and on-line and I'll say it now. Pride of Baghdad is an amazing piece of work. I love Brian K. Vaughn. I know I'm a softie but this made me cry at the end. It talks about a lot of issues without smashing them into the ground. Niko Henrichon does a great job with the art and the pannels flow well together. It ... It is a solid piece of work and easily worth the $20 dollars it costs. Here is another review if you need one.

I'm also reading The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. I have no idea why I hadn't picked this book up before. It is a great novel and if you've ever loved reading a comic book, this is for you. Beyond that, though, Michael Chabon does a great job of making characters who are people who you could know. They're human, flawed but understandable - people you can feel for. I'm only about a fourth of the way in but the book is great.

Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” ride is being developed as a movie to be scripted by Smallville's Al Gough and Miles Millar. I'm letting that stand as it is.

Go watch the new trailer for The Prestige. I feel like I've been looking forward to this movie for years now. David Bowie as Nikola Tesla.

And as a lot of people before me have reported - Spaceballs is becoming a TV show. A cartoon on G4, even.

The 80's are just the cool period right now. Every generation has it's retro era, it just happens that we were the MTV generation and thus most of the retro stuff centers around media rather than parachute pants.

Knight Rider and Transformers will SUCK, though. Heh.

I'm surprised to hear they're making a movie out of the Jungle Cruise. One of my favorite rides when I was a kid. Hope it's good. Something I'd love to share with my girls.

Pride of Baghdad sounds right up my alley. Next time the piggy bank says "buy TPB's" I'll have to check it out. I've been wanting Persipolis for awhile, too. Fantastic reviews there.
