Mar. 4th, 2002 12:08 pmCPR is interesting. I'm having an interesting time watching people squick when he talks about certain things. I was getting kind of strange there before we took our lunch break. He's very honest and up front about what this experience will be like.
Someone: "What if they've recently had surgery, won't.. with the stitches...?"
CPR Guy: "We have that all the time. The worst is when the staples are still in and they cut through your gloves when you're doing compressions...."
Someone: "You'd still do CPR?"
CPR Guy: "Yes. I'm giving them a chance. They aren't breathing and tehre is no pulse - they're dead. You do CPR on someone who is dead. You give them a chance. If you don't, they're just going to remain dead."
It's been an interesting class and they've stdardized things internationally, so they've changed yet again, but it makes sense.
Anyway... Need to get some stuff done and get back to class. *waves*
