My weekend... Not that is is over.
Mar. 5th, 2006 02:59 pmThis has been a very long weekend. I feel productive.
I think it is because I went to a movie Thursday night and then Friday was a little slack at work. Of course, I was totally wiped out, having had faaaarrr too much caffine while watching Night Watch. As a note - Night Watch, go see it. Seriously. It is creative and fun and while the plot isn't anything new, they tackle it in a creative way. I apprecaited it.
Saturday. I got up early on Saturday in order to go watch Totoro with Sean. It was straight off the DVD, which was amusing. There was the benefit of there being a real preview of Cars that actually showed me something for the first time that seemed worth seeing. I now feel better about going to see it. I got some books that are finally in paperback, which made me happy. I came home after that, did some dishes, cleaned up and just hung out at home for a bit before I went down to Renton to watch Ultraviolet with Sean, Kyna and Mike.
Ultraviolet - Well. There were some cool things in this movie. I don't think any of them is cool enough to say to go see this movie. If you're up for some serious cheese, you can go see it. Don't forget I warned you. There were weapons effects that were really well done and some clothing effects that were also awesome but the rest of the movie isn't really worth talking to. You know how Riddick sort of felt like a D&D game on the screen? This sort of feels like... a World of Darkness/Cyberpunk game on the screen. The comic book intro was nice, though. Many different styles of art and generally pretty things.
Then we went and talked while hanging out at The Keg. If felt really good to see Mike yesterday. I don't know why but sometimes he just makes me feel better. I guess that's why he's one of my best friends. That would make sense, huh?
Today I got up and ran errands. I got a plastic heater for Morla's tank. HA! Take that! It says it is shatter proof, so I'm hoping that it ends up being so. My turtle was cold. He's laying on top of the heater now. I got him a new type of food too. I'm not sure if he'll eat it but we'll try it and see. I had a good lunch and got /more/ books. These were on credit, though. I have credit at Twice Sold Tales from 2002. I have some books that I think I'll take down there. I'm not reading them and I don't care about them... I like being able to get books for all but free.
And now I hang out, ponder taking a nap and wait for the Oscars.
(See Mike, Kyna and Sean? Ferocious kitten. He's so cute.)
